Now Recruiting - Outdoor Education Co-Ordinator (Full time)

We are a registered charity with a grand vision “to build strong kids, strong families and strong communities”.  We have an exciting opportunity for you to be a part of that journey. 

We believe the outdoors has a strong part to play in the lives of children/youth. Our aim is to provide a safe, stimulating and caring environment whereby people can increase their knowledge, awareness, skills and self-esteem.

This is a position that offers the chance to:

be part of developing a high quality, exciting outdoor education programme

work with children and young people

contribute to the wider organisation by being the expert adviser with regard to outdoor education

In addition to your outdoor education experience you will ideally have:

NZOIA Level 2 and/or a relevant tertiary qualification

A clean full driver’s licence

A First Aid qualification.

We will consider applicants who are currently working towards NZOIA and who also have strong relevant experience.

Oscar Staff Wanted


We have several positions available for Out of School Care (Oscar) staff in the Hastings, Taradale and Napier areas.  Some sites require morning and after school care, others are only after school care.  We are looking for a range of staff, from supervisors to assistants so don’t forget to tell us your leadership strengths if you are keen for more responsibility.

Our Oscar staff help ensure that our children are cared for in safe, fun environments at schools around Hawkes Bay.

You must -       

Enjoy working with children and want to make a difference in their life.

 Be reliable, show initiative and common sense  Be a team player and great communicator

Be energetic and willing to have fun

Be available to work longer hours during school holidays

In line with MSD requirements you must be aged over 20.  A full drivers licence is desirable.

This position is subject to the requirements of the Vulnerable Children’s Act and therefore robust recruitment checks will be undertaken including full police vetting and reference checks.
