We’re excited that Raise Up in Hawke’s Bay is getting closer!
Vanessa Gillespie will be our Raise Up Coordinator and went to Auckland early June for training and observed the Auckland Raise Up crews in action. She's now excited to start the recruitment process to create our very own crew!
Young people aged between 13 to 18 are brought together in Raise Up crews of up to 20, to plan and run events and workshops for other young people. The events have a strong community focus and accommodate the many different interests that young people have.
Raise Up is all about empowering youth to be leaders in their communities. The programme develops skills for future employment such as event management, budgeting, managing a team, undertaking fundraising initiatives and engaging with stakeholders.
