Outdoor Adventure Hub – Coming Soon to Hawke’s Bay.
We’re incredibly excited to be working in partnership with the Hawke’s Bay Regional Sports Park Trust to create a brand-new Outdoor Adventure Hub for tamariki and rangatahi across our region.
This new facility will provide fun, safe, and confidence-building outdoor experiences, with programmes designed initially for primary and intermediate school groups – with even more opportunities to grow in the future.
What to Expect:
Our Outdoor Adventure Hub will offer a range of awesome activities designed to build teamwork, resilience, and confidence, while making sure everyone has a great time outdoors.
Activities Include:

🛶 Rafting
🏹 Archery
🧭 Orienteering
🤝 Team building activities and challenges
🚐 We can even help with transport

Be Part of Building Something New:
This is a developing project, and we’re looking for passionate people to help bring it to life.
We’re interested in hearing from local instructors, youth workers, outdoor educators, recreation leaders, and anyone with the skills and enthusiasm to support young people in the outdoors. Casual opportunities will be available as the Hub grows and develops.
Qualifications and/or experience in any of the following would be great:
✔️ Rock climbing or climbing wall instruction
✔️ Kayaking or canoeing
✔️ Outdoor education, recreation, or leadership

The Y Hawke's Bay – Outdoor Education
The Y Hawke's Bay offers a wide range of outdoor education programmes and activities for all types of groups in the Bay and beyond. All our programmes are customised to suit your needs! We also work with a number of third parties to provide activities that are not listed, so contact us if there is something else you would like to try.
Unfortunately, our climbing wall is currently not available.
The team at The Y Hawke's Bay are passionate about developing young people and aim to offer experiences that transform the lives of both young people and adults for the better. We believe everyone should have the opportunity to experience the outdoors and learn about the great New Zealand wilderness.
We have programmes and initiatives for everyone, no matter the age, background, or ability. Our goal is to help people of all ages push their boundaries, grow in confidence, and discover capabilities they didn’t know they had.
Equipment Hire
For experienced and qualified instructors, we offer equipment hire so you can run your own activities. Please email us for more information.
Safety is always our first priority. Every instructor carries a first aid kit and a personal locator beacon or satellite communications device when off site.
